As countries across the world work to keep its citizens safe against the coronavirus (COVID-19), child entrepreneur Kailee Coombs is reminding children of the importance to keep their hands clean often through handwashing and hand sanitisers.
11 year old Coombs who launched her Kai Kits for Kids brand in August of 2019 created the line to provide families with one convenient kit to meet their sanitation needs. Importantly, she wanted a kit that children in particular could take with them to help them be clean and healthy on the go. Based on the World Health Organization’s recommendations to wash hands frequently, Kai Kits promote this behaviour via its Jamaican made lemongrass hand soaps and hand sanitisers that are child safe but suitable for all members of the family. The kit also includes child safe hand wipes, lotion, a tissue pack, toothbrush, toothpaste and toothbrush cover, a total of 9 items all secured in a sturdy handmade pouch that fits in a child’s backpack. The World Health Organisation (WHO) points out that by washing hands frequently with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub will go a long way to kill viruses that may be on the hand. This it says is applicable for several cases including travel. What are you waiting for? encourage your children to keep themselves clean and healthy at all times! Kits start at J$3000 and are currently being sold at Art Connect at Devon House, Monarch Pharmacy in Barbican, Bewellers Pharmacy and Kozy Korner Books in Kingston as well as MCJ Pharmacy in Portmore.
